About Postcards from the Park: A Pictorial History of Washington

Postcards from the Park: A Pictorial History of Washington

Vintage postcards from the 1900s and beyond chronicle the true stories of local Tacomans and other visitors to Washington's state and national parks. Stories emerge from the images and scrawled handwriting, narrating trips to Mt. Rainier, Olympic National Forest, Dry Falls, Sacajawea State Park, and Mt. St. Helens. Discover snapshots of history and plan your next adventure with tour guide, Teresa Andre.

Teresa Andre is a traveling storyteller who spins tales of the Pacific Northwest based on first-person historical accounts. She is a former museum educator and leads guided excursions for the America Cruise line with Pretty Gritty Tours in Tacoma. Teresa is a docent for the Handford Site and assists with programming for the Manhattan Project National Historical Park.
